Company history

REI Electric has risen to become a major player in the industrial electrical services market since 2012.  Our foundations go back further than that, however.  Our experience dates back to as far as 1996.

Nathan Smith, owner and CEO of REI Electric in Salt Lake City, started in the industry as a parts driver for a local electric contractor eventually working his way into an apprenticeship position.  Through hard work, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic, he worked his way up the ladder to become project manager over several important large projects.  Pursuing his passion, Nathan acquired his Master Electrical License in 2011 and decided it was time for bigger things.

Accordingly, REI Electric was born.  Nathan’s vision for the new company was to become the best service provider in the industry, providing not only industry leading technology, but also a customer service ethic that would be unmatched.  That dream is now a reality, as evidenced by the reputation REI Electric has been able to develop.  We are a preferred electrical contractor for the state of Utah, working in combination with numerous state facilities.  Here are just a few of the projects we have undertaken:
